Target know as Target Corporation is American second largest discount store behind Walmart. Founded by George Dayton, Target has it’s headquater in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was originally called Goodfellow Dry Goods before renaming it to Dayton’s Dry Goods Company in 1903 and later the Dayton Company in 1910. At the moment (2017) Target has a total of 1806 locations across the United States. Their retail formats include the discount store Target, the hypermarket SuperTarget, and “flexible format” stores previously named CityTarget and TargetExpress before being consolidated under the Target branding. Target is often recognized for its emphasis on “the needs of its younger, image-conscious shoppers,” whereas its rival Walmart more heavily relies on its strategy of “always low prices. Target Pharmacy is the pharmacy extension of target and it’s located in all it’s stores across the nation. Target Pharmacy was acquire in June 2016 by CVS for $1.9 billion and now runs the Target Pharmacy. Target Pharmacy is open on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from the hours of 9 AM and closes at 7 PM. On a normal Saturday, the stores open one hour before regular time which is 8 AM to 5 PM. On Sundays the stores are open 2 hours late, it opens 11 AM and closes at 7 PM.
Target observes special holidays which includes Independence Day, Christmas Day ,New Years Eve, Easter Sunday and Thanksgiving Day. This holiday list may vary and store can also choose to remain close on some specific day or they may be closed due to some bad weather. On these special holidays stores remain closed.
